Member Academies
Created in 1919, the UAI comprises at the moment more than a hundred academies from 63 countries from all continents.
Academies that have a national nature, and comparable national learned institutions, can be recognized and qualified for membership.
Academies and national learned institutions as described in Article 4 may alternatively be recognized as Associate Members.
The status of Affiliated Member may be accorded to scientific institutions and research institutes that have an international, a national or a regional character and that express the wish to cooperate in projects of the UAI or wich suggest projects to its direction or to its patronage.
