The Mexican Academy of History, corresponding with the Real Academia de Madrid, a non-profit civil association, aims to promote, develop, strengthen and disseminate historical studies among the broad public in Mexico. Founded on September 12, 1919, by prominent men committed to studying the past of their country, who were corresponding members from the Real Academia de Madrid, the institution set out to begin work by discussing ancient works, collecting bibliohemerographic materials, promoting research, rescuing documentary sources and promoting the conservation of the historical-cultural heritage of Mexico.
